Optimizing a group-wide weather service

In 2022, Aski-da Synergies assisted France Télévisions in optimizing and updating its weather data provision service for the entire group.

The project involved analyzing the needs of the various entities, preparing and managing the European request for proposals, and providing support in selecting suppliers and rolling out the new services.

The challenge: harmonizing, optimizing, and securing the transition

France Télévisions needed to renew a contract covering a wide range of editorial, technical, and operational needs across the group.

The challenge was to align the expectations of the various entities, identify areas for optimizing the existing system, and formalize requirements to enable a supplier selection process in compliance with public procurement procedures.

The project also had to ensure a smooth transition to the new services, including testing, validation, and implementation phases.

Scoping, market analysis, and transition management

Aski-da Synergies defined the scope of the project by gathering the requirements of the various France Télévisions entities and identifying the main avenues for optimizing the existing system.

Our project manager drafted the technical and functional specifications and managed the European RFP process, from the launch of the solicitation through the evaluation of proposals, the preparation of presentations, and support for the decision-making process.

After the France Télévisions project management team selected the suppliers, Aski-da Synergies supported the implementation of the workflows involving the data providers for the production of weather reports. Aski-da Synergies also managed the transition through to production, coordinating technical and functional testing, the go-live schedule, and the required initial adjustments.

A specific approach for the Overseas Territories

At the same time, a specific consulting project was carried out for the Overseas Territories to address the unique constraints and needs of the various territories.

Aski-da Synergies was responsible for conducting a needs assessment, designing a new bulletin and its production workflow, and coordinating the delivery of specific maps by Météo France.

From consulting to production monitoring

The overhaul of the weather service was carried out from the requirements definition phase through to the launch of the new services, using a standardized approach across the group. The process also made it possible to develop a tailored solution for the overseas territories, adapted to local constraints and practices.
