Successfully launching a new technical infrastructure at Radio France

In 2016, as part of the launch of franceinfo, Aski-da Synergies worked with the systems integrator BCE to set up the technical infrastructure for the new service within Radio France.

Conceived as a 24/7 news service available on radio, television, and digital platforms, franceinfo required an infrastructure capable of meeting the demands of a round-the-clock, highly responsive operation.

The challenge: rolling out a new infrastructure without disruption

The project involved designing, integrating, and deploying a new technical infrastructure at Maison de la Radio.

The system was designed to enable editorial and technical teams to adopt new workflows while ensuring infrastructure availability and business continuity.

It was also necessary to prepare the teams to operate the new environment and gradually organize the transfer of expertise to Radio France.

Project management: from design to launch

Aski-da Synergies contributed to the scoping and design of the system by facilitating requirements workshops, defining the technical architecture and interconnections, and formalizing operational processes.

A team of 15 employees was mobilized to support the technical integration, installation, and configuration of the equipment, followed by validation tests and rehearsals prior to going on the air.

The project also included a change management component, involving the development of a training plan and the organization of 50 days of training for editorial and technical teams.

At launch, the teams oversaw the go-live of the three control rooms at the Maison de la Radio, before ensuring ongoing operational support and the gradual transfer of expertise to the Radio France teams.

Result

The three production units went live as part of the launch of franceinfo, with dedicated technical and operational support.

The initiative also made it possible to train the teams through 50 days of training and to gradually organize the transfer of skills to Radio France, in order to foster the teams’ autonomy in operating the new environment.
